We started the organic farm in 2001 when we moved from London to Marche with an ideal of environmental sustainability. We have achieved a lot to date, but the road to our initial goal is still long ahead. |

Half of the land follows a five-year crop rotation as this is the most virtuous and efficient practice that respects and protects the environment. All crops are managed without the use of irrigation water, thanks to the type of clay soil. |

Originally the Farm had an orchard of 1200 trees which has recently been replaced with an olive grove of two local varieties. Our oil production is still modest, but certainly very attentive to the prevention from attack by pests, the harvesting -by hand- and the traditional cold milling within 48 hours. |

We have a predilection for fruit trees usually neglected, such as the medlar, the elder, the mulberry tree, the quince and khaki tree, with which we prepare the jams served at breakfast. |

Although the surrounding countryside is beautiful, like a patchwork quilt, it seemed barren of trees and birds. So we have created a green area of 31,000 square meters all around the farm, planting around 3,000 trees and choosing forgotten essences - including the strawberry tree, hawthorn, mountain ash and dogwood trees - that producing berries attract native fauna. The system also helps protect against land erosion, improve drainage, thus consolidating slopes and rolling landscapes. |
