`Le Marche - Italy in one region'

Le Marche is a region in which history, culture and agriculture have undoubtedly created a unique and quite extraordinary world

that is worth discovering, with plenty to offer and much to explore.  It has 180 km of  coastline, 2 national parks, 500 piazzas,

1000 important monuments , 34 archeological sites and it is steeped in history, castles and historical pageants staged in the

old town centres, yet only recently discovered by travellers.

In addition to many coastal resorts, sandy beaches and rocky coves, it has the natural beauty of unspoilt rolling countryside,

with many charming hilltop villages, lakes and mountains, rich in historical and artistic heritage that has been so well preserved.

In this untouched and undiscovered region of Italy your experience will leave you wanting to return.

The  local food and wine is certainly another attraction. Le Marche is known as the larder of Italy and, with 12 DOC wines

on offer and top quality local produce, you will find a wide variety of local dishes to choose from.

In this region, each change in the landscape brings another culinary tradition and, as one gradually moves away from the

coast towards the mountains, the smell of fresh Adriatic fish is replaced by truffles, meats, cheeses and many more typical

inland flavours.

Here are just a few of its hidden treasures:

Sun seekers or water sport enthusiasts will certainly not be disappointed with many beautiful blue flag beaches and nature reserves, like the Conero,

Further inland, the rocky mountains, with deep gorges and limestone cliffs, form part of the national park. Lake Fiastra, with an ancient abbey, is one of the many jewels certainly worth a visit.

Lake Pilato is 2000m above sea level and can be reached on foot, starting at 1000m. This area is appealing both to walkers and experienced hikers. The Sibillini National Park comprises of sandy marl rocks, thick woodland and splendid water falls.

In the Grotte di Frasassi, considered among the most interesting in the

world, every step of the way is

marked with beautiful tiny lakes, naturally-carved stalactites and

giant stalagmites. The tour is

capped by passing through the magnificent Abyss Ancona

(240m high) where the Duomo

of Milan could fit inside.

If you are interested in recreational  activities we can advise you on local fishing, go-carting, golf course, horse riding, mountain-biking,  skiing, cross country skiing and sledging for children. With nine ski resorts and varying slope altitudes, winter breaks are also full of interesting pastimes.

Inland you can find many areas for  a relaxing holiday at any time of  the year, ideal for those wishing to avoid the overcrowded traditional tourist resorts, or for those seeking the opportunity to discover more

leisurely activities.
