Finding us

Il Melograno is situated 17kms inland from the Adriatic coast and is a 50 minute drive from Ancona airport (80 kms) and a 1 hour 15 min drive from Pescara airport (130kms). 

Flights via Ryan air from London standstead to Ancona, Bologna (Forlė) & Pescara.

Summer flights from: Liverpool to Ancona (Ryan air) & Luton to Rimini (Easy jet)

We recommend that guests hire a car in advance, for the duration of their stay. Alternatively,

upon request we can arrange for airport collection for groups of up to 8 people,

please contact us in advance for a quotation.

Driving directions: Ancona Airport to Il Melograno

Attention - Always drive with your LIGHTS ON  Motorway Speed limit: 130 kph

  Exit the airport driving over the flyover, this is the shortest route to the Autostrada.

  • exit airport going out over the flyover, following the green sign for the Autostrada A14 `Ancona Nord` - approx 700 meters
  • stay on this road and keep to the left, going under the bridge and the road merges with a dual carriageway - approx. 700 meters
  • turn off the road at the first exit - green sign for the Autostrada A14- approx. 300 meters
  • follow the road and merge into another lane, at the traffic lights go straight on - approx 200 meters
  • now you are entering on to a `toll-pay` motorway - use lane `BIGLIETTO` (ticket) - approx 150 meters
  • < ROAD SPLITS > TAKE DIRECTION `ANCONA/PESCARA` heading south
  • stay on the Autostrada A14 for approx. 66kms - until `Porto San Giorgio / Fermo` exit - Approx 30 mins
  • Exit at Porto San Giorgio / Fermo and road merges at the toll booth (cost approx. 3 euros)
  • exit toll and at the roundabout take the second exit - direction Fermo
  • at the next roundabout take the third exit, turning right - direction Grottazzolina
  • Follow for approx. 8kms until the stop sign - turn left and then first right (do not go over the bridge) - direction Grottazzolina
  • Stay on this road for approx. 7kms - until a large blue sign `Ponzano di Fermo (left) / Capparuccia (right)`
  • Turn right at this sign for `Capparuccia`, see our sign post, & follow road up a steep hill (approx. 1 km)
  • Turn left at the first junction after approx 1km, into Contrada Capparuccia (see our sign post)
  • Follow the road for no more than 200 meters and take the first turning on the left (see our sign post)
  • Follow the road for 200 meters and then turn first right into `Il Melograno` No 34 (see our sign post)

Attention - Always drive with your LIGHTS ON  Motorway Speed limit: 130 kph

  • exit the airport and follow the GREEN signs for the Autostrada A14 `Pescara Ovest`
  • when entering the toll-pay motorway use lane `BIGLIETTO` (ticket)
  • next the < ROAD SPLITS > TAKE DIRECTION `ANCONA/BOLOGNA` heading North
  • stay on the Autostrada A14 for approx. 100 kms - until `Porto San Giorgio / Fermo` exit 
  • Exit at `Porto San Giorgio / Fermo` and road merges at the toll booth (cost approx. 3 euros)
  • exit toll and at the roundabout take the second exit- direction Fermo - approx 50 meters
  • at the next roundabout take the third exit, turning left and then turn immediately right - direction Grottazzolina
  • Follow for approx. 8kms until the stop sign - turn left and then first right (do not go over the bridge) - direction Grottazzolina
  • Stay on this road for approx. 7kms - until blue sign post for `Ponzano di Fermo (left) / Capparuccia (right)`

once in Italy - by Train / Bus

From Ancona Airport take the train from CASTELFERRETTI STATION or  take the bus  Linea  J to Ancona main line train station. Once in Ancona mainline station take a train to `Porto San Giorgio / Fermo`. From Porto San Giorgio's station a taxi to Il Melograno will take approximately 25 mins. and cost around 25 Euros, but it's safer to book the taxi in advance to ensure availability.

 

From Pescara Airport by taking the No. 38 bus, which leaves every 15 mins to the center. A single ticket costs 70 cents.

Bus tickets are sold at the automatic machine inside the terminal arrivals area. Once at Pescara Centrale station you need

to take a train to `Porto Sano Giorgio / Fermo`. From Porto San Giorgio's station a taxi to Il Melograno will take approximately 25 mins. and cost around 25 Euros, but it's safer to book the taxi in advance to ensure availability.
