We found Il Melograno a very relaxing place to stay.  All rooms had an en-suite bathroom which was a huge bonus and having young children we liked the fact that the pool was safely tucked away with access only via a gate. The kitchen was amazing – a delight to cook in, as for the views, we spent many calming moments gazing at the mountains and we grew very fond of the farmer on his tractor going up and down the surrounding fields droning like a bee in the distance!  Quite the rural retreat.

Yet, just 20 minutes away were the sandy beaches of the Adriatic coast for the children to enjoy, and for us the highlight of our stay was the trip to the mountain villages,  just an hour away - and the swim in the fresh water Lake Fiastra.  We also had a most enjoyable evening out for some adventurous “grown up” cuisine at the restaurant Il Picene in the hill-top village of Orzzetzana, we would highly recommend it when the pizza and pasta get too much!  At all times Daniel and Candida were full of friendly, local information for which we were thankful.”

We had heard about Le Marche and decided to explore. Since November can often be a dismal affair in Norway, we chose to get away from daily things with an extra long week-end, hoping for some Italian sunshine. Three of our nights were spent at Il Melograno, a wonderful place! After a severe thunderstorm the first evening (reminding us of the middle of the William Tell Overture) we awoke to beautiful sunshine and newly snow-capped mountains in the distance. With the beaches and charming coastal towns on the Adriatic just 15-20 minutes away, you have got it all here. Le Marche and Il Melograno far surpassed our expectations.
